What Does Giving Control to Him Really Mean?

Posted by D M on

Queen,

Giving control of our lives to God is hard. Giving full control of our past, present, and future to God is hard because having control feels good. Having control makes us feel empowered and in charge of what happens. Are there things we can control? Of course. You can plan to ace that interview for your dream job, but what happens if you don’t get it? Do you dwell in disappointment or release your disappointment to God, knowing that He knows better. What if you’re waiting for an apology from someone who hurt you and they don’t give it to you? Do you let bitterness take over or bring it to God, knowing that He will give you beauty for your ashes? Maybe you feel like you keep doing the right thing but the wrong thing keeps happening.      There’s no need to try to dwell in certain feelings or try to force things to happen when you give full control to God. Queen, giving control to God isn’t forgetting the pain, fear, or confusion we may feel. When we give full control to Him, we are acknowledging that He has us in the palm of His hands. When we give full control to Him, we are acknowledging that in the midst of our situation God is good and always on our side. Nothing with God is ever wasted. He knows how to turn your situation around and use it for your good.
