Do you ever feel like there are times you just don’t say the right things? You try to say the right things but your temper gets the best of you. Or maybe you constantly think about things you’ve said in the past and how you could’ve said them better. Typically when that happens, the next step is to start blaming ourselves. Thoughts like “I always mess up” or “I’m so stupid” start to go through our heads. These thoughts can be so damaging to our self-esteem. Not only that, these thoughts aren’t true. God describes us as using wisdom and speaking with kindness. It’s important to realize that God described us this way before we were born. It’s important for us to realize that God created us. Before we were born, He knew everything about us. He knew when we would mess up. He knew when we would fail and yet, He still describes us using positive words in the Bible. So the next time you say the wrong thing, give yourself a break and remember how God describes you.
