How to Guard Your Faith

We all know that no matter how much we plan, life can be unpredictable. Unpredictable circumstances come against us and can sometimes leave us feeling helpless. Life happens. As Christians, we have to make a predetermined decision to keep our faith no matter what comes our way. This decision has to happen before the circumstances happens. If we try guard our faith after the circumstance happens, it's too late. We've let our guard down and leave ourselves open for the enemy to plant negative thoughts in our heads. Thoughts like "If God loved me, why would He let this happen" or "Nothing good will ever happen to me". In the bible, we are told to "guard our faith". Guarding our faith isn't a passive act. We have to be aggressive with guarding our faith. How do we do that? One of our favorite ways, is to remind ourselves of God's promises to us. Promises like "All things work together for our good", "We can do all things through Christ who strengthens us" and "God's favor surrounds us like a shield". Constantly reminding ourselves of these promises allows us to exercise our faith so that when these unpredictable circumstances come, our faith is active. It takes work but the good news is, we aren't doing life alone. God is with us in everything we do. Queen, ask God to help you practice guarding your faith and He will.
