How to be in Control of Your Fear
Have you ever asked yourself where a certain fear comes from? Fear is inevitable in life. It’s human nature to experience that emotion. The key is to not be overwhelmed or consumed by fear. When you experience fear, it’s important to think about where it’s coming from. What’s the root of the fear you’re experiencing? Are you afraid to step out of your comfort zone because of what others think? Are you afraid to give that presentation at work because you don’t think you’re smart enough? When you recognize the root of the fear you’re experiencing, there’s a good chance you’ll be better equipped to deal with that fear. For example if you’re afraid to step out of your comfort zone because of what others may think, you may need to deal with not being consumed by others opinions. If you’re afraid to tell others “no” because you don’t want them to be upset with you, you may need to work on not being a people pleasure. Dealing with the root of your fear allows you to take control of it and not be a victim of it. Pray and ask God to not only identify the root of your fear but to conquer it and He will.
