There are times people will intentionally and unintentionally hurt you. It can be easy to want to hold on to that pain. After all, we don't want to let that person "off the hook". If we forgive them, that means they aren't being held accountable for what they did to us, right? So often that's where we get it wrong. Holding on to grudges harms us more than the people who hurt us. When we're holding on to grudges, it imprisons us in something that happened in the past and doesn't allow us to move forward. Forgiveness doesn't excuse their behavior. When you forgive someone, it doesn't make light of what they did to you but it does give you an opportunity to move forward to walk into what God has for you. You can't move into the future God has for you while holding on to something that happened in the past. Forgiveness isn't an easy process. The good news is, you don't have to do it alone. God wants to help you forgive. He wants to give you beauty for your ashes, all you have to do is pray. Release whoever hurt you to God in prayer and He'll give you the grace you need to move forward. As queens, we are called to forgive others, just as God forgives us. God wants you to focus on your future and not what's happened in the past. Lean on Him today to help you forgive.
